Toko Limburg is the third Toko exhibition initiated by Riboet Verhalenkunst. After Toko Mokum (2023–2024) and Toko Holland (2025), Riboet focuses this time on the historical narrative of the Indies/Indonesian/Moluccan toko in Limburg. Featuring video portraits of iconic tokos and visual artists drawn inspiration on this topic. From 30th of May 2026—3rd of January 2027 at Limburgs Museum.
The identity is inspired on Indonesian batik patterns, the diagonal lines in the wooden sculptures of historic houses and Limburg’s European heritage: the vlaai (a famous regional pie). The typography is like the hand painted Kaki Limas (mobile streetfood vendors). The matching patterns are bridging the Indonesian/Moluccan and Limburg culture.
