2024 is the Year of the Dragon. The dragon is the symbol of power, change, fortune and nobility. The lion is the symbol of courage, strength, valour and royalty. Together they symbolise Vietnam and the Netherlands and the bonds between our nations which started across the sea.
In the additional context of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, a large Netherlands economic mission to Vietnam is taking place from 18–22 March 2024. The mission consisting of 140 business entrepreneurs led by Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management Mr. Mark Harbers, the Minister at the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality Ms. Christianne van der Wal and President of the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers (VNO-NCW) Ms. Ingrid Thijssen.
